Zimbabwe has launched a national HIV/AIDS strategy plan that will guide resource allocation and implement the countrys HIV response over the next five-years, ZBC reportedMunyaradzi Dhobbie Chief Director of Health and Child Care Ministryy said Monday that the countrys strategic plan will run from 2021-2025 and help it in eradicating AIDS before 2030.
He also praised the National AIDS Council for its efforts in fighting the global epidemic, Xinhua reported "We have met the 90-90/90-90-90 target and now we want the 95-95/95 target.This can be achieved if we work with older men.We are now working towards ending AIDS by 2030.HIV prevalence and mortality have decreased.
Dhobbie stated that we must remain vigilant.The 90-90/90-90-90 target means that by 2020, 90% of all HIV-positive people will be aware of their HIV status.90 percent will receive sustained antiretroviral treatment and 90 percent will have viral suppression.Sophia Moniko, UNAIDS country director, stressed the need to make a paradigm shift in the financing of health care in order for the country achieve its goals "To end AIDS we must end inequalities.
