After a delay in the past couple of days, YS Jagan cabinet has met today.During the cabinet meeting, some key decisions were taken.
Out of them, the biggest take was confirming Visakhapatnam as the other capital city, despite the ongoing Amaravati Farmers Agitations in the state.
‘The cabinet approved Visakhapatnam as the Executive Capital, while Amaravati is the legislative capital’, official sources confirmed.
The cabinet has approved the recommendations made by the High Power Committee, and had taken many key decisions. The cabinet also gave its nod for Decentralization of Governance, comprehensive development of all regions in the state, Visakhapatnam as the Executive capital, Amaravati as the legislative capital, and cancellation of CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority).
The YS Jagan cabinet came up with AMRDA (Amaravati Metropolitan Region Development Authority), Pulivendula Urban Development Authority, and Rythu Bharosa Kendralu (Farmer Welfare Centres).
Another interesting decision was to pursue the alleged insider trading that took place before naming Amaravati as the capital during Nara Chandrababu Naidu tenure as Chief Minister.
One good news for the farmers is the decision to pay the amount for a period of 15 years towards the leased farmlands taken by the farmers. The YS Jagan government also promised that plots would be developed and handed over to the farmers around the Amaravati capital region.
