Workplace disruptions during the pandemic had a positive effect on diversity, equity, and inclusion at the organisation. This was revealed by a study.
According to a study by Intel, more than 200 Indian business leaders (out of more that 3,000 in 17 countries) stated they intend to build inclusive and diverse businesses going forward.

Businesses have used the pandemic to change their workplace models and adapt to new ways to work, which was previously impossible.

Nearly 81% of Indian business leaders who were surveyed said that the pandemic had caused disruptions in their workplaces. This shows how successful remote work and hybrid models are in achieving these goals.

71% of respondents also said that their organization has significantly adapted such initiatives to a hybrid workforce.

“As organisations plan to the next phase, whether it is remote, in-person or hybrid, leaders need to think differently about diversity and equity and inclusion,” stated Anjali Rao Senior Director-HR, Intel India.

Nearly 69% of participants in India have set diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.77% of those who have said so are confident that the company can achieve them, compared with 66% of global business leaders.

When asked how changing work models will impact diversity and equity at work, 71% of Indian leaders who work in companies that offer hybrid work options stated that their company has successfully adapted these initiatives to a hybrid workforce.

However, 16 percent of Indian business leaders believe that the pandemic has had a negative effect on progress in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The study revealed that the main reason was that remote work has made it difficult to include all employees.
