Bengaluru : Railways hammered Karnataka with eight wickets during Saturdays final of the Womens Senior One-Day Trophy.
It took place at the M Chinnaswamy stadium.
Railways was the current champions and won this trophy for the thirteenth consecutive timeThe semi-finals were canceled due to heavy rain.It was hard not to expect a great final between the two unbeaten tournament teams.
It was one-way traffic, however, for Mithali Raj-led Railways.The hosts were left reeling after Renuka K Singh, pacer, took out S Shubha and D Vrinda with her new ball.
Renuka was eventually victorious with figures of 4/14 after seven overs, as Railways didnt lose the advantage.Although K Prathyoosha (16 and Niki Prasad (21) attempted to resist, it was too late as Karnataka fell to 74 in just 38 overs.
Railways responded by resolving the meager total with just eight wickets and in 22 overs.S Meghana, the opener scored 36 runs from 43 balls.
