Gwadar’s first female street gang takes to the streets

New Delhi, Nov 30, : Hundreds marched in Gwadar (a coastal city in Balochistan), to protest illegal trawling and unneeded security check posts.

Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman has been leading a sit-in in Gwadar over the past two weeks.According to the report, the rally grew into a public gathering on Marine Drive near Gwadar Development Authority Park.

Maulana Hidayat ur-Rehman stated that women have been more active in protests.He said that the historic womens rally would usher in a new era in Balochistan.

The report said that Gwadars children and youth, as well as elders, and women, were determined to fight for their rights through peaceful struggle.He stated that the rulers have no choice but listen to Gwadar to solve the Balochistan problems.

Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Balochistan Chief Minister, stated that orders were issued to the Fisheries Department, Pakistan Navy and Maritime Security to take stern actions against illegal trawlers entering Balochistan to protect the interests Balochistans fisherman.According to the report, the Balochistan CM stated that most of the demands made by participants in the ongoing sit-in at Gwadar were accepted.
