Chennai, Nov 29, : , Chennai Police are investigating a complaint by Yasmin, a 28-year-old woman who claimed that two men Robbed Yasmin of Rs 2.5 lakh she received from selling her baby.The Puzhal native woman complained that the incident happened on Sunday.
Yasmin stated in the complaint filed at Vepery police station that Jayageetha, a woman who arranged for the sale of the baby, might be responsible for the money theft.
Special teams were formed by the police and launched a search for Jayageetha, Jayageetha, and the two men the complainant claims Robbed her.
Yasmin claims that she met Jayageetha in Ennore’s Tsunami colony, during a visit at a Kellys private hospital, and that he became her friend.
Yasmin was pregnant and trying to have her second child.Her husband had left her, and she was struggling to make ends meet.
Jayageetha had convinced her that she would make a lot of money if the baby was sold to a person.Yasmin gave birth on November 21 to a baby boy at a government hospital.
Jayageetha then asked her to bring him to Purasawalkam high road.
She claimed Jayageetha had introduced her to Dhanam and two male accomplices.
She asked her to sign a blank sheet of paper that they would use to ‘bond’ her.Dhanam received the baby boy and she gave her Rs 2.5 lakh.
Yasmin, in her complaint, stated that the men followed her on a two-wheeler as she was returning home with Sharmila, her daughter.
They stopped her car in the middle, threatened her and took the money.She claimed that Jayageetha was behind the theft and that they rode off with the money.
IANS was told by a senior police officer that there are some missing pieces and that the police are looking at all angles.However, he said that Jayageetha and Dhanam are being followed by the police along with the two men.
