Chennai, Nov 26 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin assured women and girls that his government will protect them like a father and that it will be a priority to ensure the safety of female students and women in educational institutions and workplaces.
Stalin stated in a statement Friday that he would protect him as Chief Minister and like a father.

The statement of the Chief Minister comes a day after the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women was observed around the world.

Stalin urged educational institutions and businesses to not cover up sexual offences against girls and women.

He also asked authorities to act responsibly and properly, and urged victims of sexual assault to not take extreme measures but to fight for justice and bring the perpetrators to the court.

Stalin stated that the government would take action against anyone who exploits women sexually.

He also stressed the importance of protecting children and women.

He stated that the government has set a goal to end the crimes against children and women.

Stalin stated that administrators of educational institutions and businesses should investigate complaints.

He also urged teachers and heads of educational institutions to not cover up incidents of sexual assault on children in order to ‘protect their reputation’.

The Chief Minister appealed for survivors of sexual assault to call the helpline “1098”.
