Srinagar : , Nov 29 : .Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience widespread rain and snowfall between December 5th and 7, according to the weather forecast on Monday. A Meteorological Department official (MeT), stated that “A Western Disturbance, (WD), is most likely to impact J&K during December 5-7.
“Widespread light-to-moderate snowfall and rain in the plains are expected during this time.
“Some areas at higher elevations (above 2000m), may get heavy snow (1-2 ft), while plains are more likely to receive 2-3 inches.
“Due to snowfall and freezing temperatures, there is a possibility of traffic disruption at passes like Zojila and Sinthan Top, Razdan Top, and Mughal Road.”
A WD is an extra tropical hurricane in the Mediterranean Sea that causes heavy rains and snowfall in India and Pakistan, Nepal, Nepal, and Bangladesh.
Ladakh and J&K have been struggling with cold wave conditions over the past few days.
Any precipitation that occurs in the next few days will likely break the current cold spell.
