West Indies players have announced a stunning decision.
The team players have abruptly called off their ongoing India tour due to an ongoing payment dispute between the WICB (West Indies Cricket Board) and WIPA (West Indies Players Association).
The West Indies will end the tour after the 4th ODI in Dharamsala and will not play the remaining fifth ODI, one-off T20 and three-Test series. The reason for the dispute between the West Indies players and WIPA had been the memorandum of understanding and the combined bargaining agreement signed between WIPA and WICB in September.
All the West Indian players had stood behind their captain Dwayne Bravo, who had demanded the resignation of Players Association chief Wavell Hinds.Other side Sri Lanka team agrees to play to accommodate the disturbed schedule.
The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board has accepted BCCIs invitation to play five ODIs with India. The ODIs will be held from November 1 to 15.The BCCI has expressed shocked and disappointed at the WICBs decision to cut short the ongoing tour. The board also said it would sue the WICB.
