The war must come to an be put to an end with the liberation of Crimea: Zelensky

Kiev 10 Aug : Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the ongoing conflict with Russia wont be over until the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea that was annexed by Moscow and is now free.

"Crimea is Ukrainian and we will not let it go," dpa news agency quoted the President as declaring in his video address to the nation on Tuesday "The Black Sea region cannot be considered safe if Crimea is under occupation," he said "There is no lasting peace and stability in several countries along the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea as long as Russia can use our peninsula as a military base "This Russian war against Ukraine and against all independent Europe started with Crimea and will come to an end with Crimea, with its liberation," Zelensky added.

On Tuesday an explosion sequence of explosions struck the Saky military base close to Novofedorivka situated in the western part of Crimea and killed one person.While Russia has dismissed the explosions as unnatural however, an important Ukrainian advisor denied the claim that Kiev was the culprit.

Crimea is officially part of Ukraine but was annexed by Russia in 2014 following an election that the international community believes is unlegitimate.In his speech, Zelensky however did not mention the bombs.
