Vivek Oberoi shares his parents’ thoughts on his acting career

Mumbai, Nov 29, : Vivek Oberoi will play Vikrant Dhawan, a character who seeks revenge on his mentor.He was cut loose in Season 1.

When asked about Yashodhara Oberoi’s opinion on his work, the actor stated that his mother Yashodhara was his biggest supporter and diehard fan.She has yet to see the second or third episode from season 1.She cant see her son the meanie he is in "Inside Edge".Vivek Oberois father Suresh Oberoi, a veteran actor, has viewed all episodes of both seasons.

Vivek shared his fathers opinion on his work."Unlike my mother, I am my greatest critic," he said.He is supportive of my work but, being one of the best actors in the industry he views my work through an objective lens "I look forward his feedback and his words always have stood me in good stead over the long-term.

My father liked my portrayal of Vikrant Dhawan.His role in the 1981 film "Shradhanjali" which won him numerous awards, inspired my performance.

He concluded that the negative character he played in that film had a cool, easy, and smiling demeanour which was different from the villains of the time who wore their villainy on its sleeves." Talking about "Inside Edge 3", the second season featured Vikrant hiding in the shadows, laying the foundation for his return.
