Virat Kohli and other cricketers condole the death of CDS Gen Bipin Rohat

New Delhi, Dec 8, 2008 : Virat Kohli, Test team captain, and former Indian cricketers expressed shock and grief Wednesday at the loss of Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rohat, Madhulika Rawat, and 11 others in a chopper accident in Tamil Nadu.

"Deeply shocked by the tragic death of CDS Bipin Rawat Ji and other officials in a tragic helicopter accident.

Kohli posted on Twitter her deepest condolences for the loved ones.Wednesday evening, the Indian Air Force confirmed that General Rawat and his spouse were among the 13 people who died in a fatal crash of a chopper.

VVS Laxman, a former cricketer, wrote: "Deeply shocked to hear about the death of Sh.#BipinRawat with his wife in a tragic helicopter accident.Gen.Rawat will be remembered for his outstanding service to the nation.Om Shanti, Jai Hind Sehwag, a former India opener, tweeted: "Extremely sad to hear about Shri #BipinRawats passing, his wife Madhulika Rawat, and 11 army personnel who died in the tragic helicopter crash.We are grateful for his extraordinary service to the nation.Om Shanti.
