Vir Das will play a young, wealthy Indian man in ‘Country Eastern.

Mumbai, Dec 8, 2008 : Comedian Vir das will star in a new series titled Country Eastern.

This series tells the story about a young, wealthy man from India who moves to Memphis in Tennessee to pursue his passion for country music singingThe problem is that he doesn’t have the ability to do it.Vir spoke out about the series and said that it was an exciting new project.He is happy to announce that the series has begun production.The series writing is currently underway.

I am excited to collaborate with such talented people, each of whom has a dazzling body of work.Its a very unique comedy, and I look forward to filming it soon.

Sam Laybourne will executive produce and co-write the show with Vir.Laybourne will also be the showrunner.Executive producers for the show, which will be produced by CBS Studios and Fox Entertainment, will include Reg Tigerman and Andy Samberg, Jorma Tamberg, Akiva Schaffer, Ali Bell of Party Over Here, and Jorma Tacone.
