Director Lokesh Kanagaraj who went on to direct Karthi in last year’s super hit ‘Kaithi’and Thalapathy Vijay in ‘Master’ which is up for release on big screen, has earlier made his directorial debut with a film titled ‘Maanagaram’ in 2017 which starred Sri, Sundeep Kishan, Regina Cassandra, Charlie, Madhusudhan Rao, Munishkanth, Vivek Prasanna and others.
Now the latest information is that ‘Maanagaram’ is set to have it’s Bollywood remake.
Young upcoming actor Vikrant Massey will be seen playing the lead role in this Hindi remake.The Hindi version of the film will be directed by ace cinematographer and filmmaker Santosh Sivan and will also see actor Sanjay Mishra in an important role.
The shooting of the film is expected to start in January next year and will have around a 50-day schedule in Mumbai.Major portions of the film will be shot at night.
This remake is produced by Shibu Thameens under his Thameens Films banner.It is being said that Vikrant will be seen playing a young angry man, a role that is completely different from anything that he has done so far.
On the work front, Vikrant Massey was recently seen in ‘Cargo’ and ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ which were released on the Netflix OTT platform.He also has ‘Ginny Weds Sunny’ with Yami Gautam which is up for release on October 9th on Netflix again.
He will soon be resuming the shoot of ‘Haseen Dillruba’ and will start the first schedule of ’14 Phere’.
