Hanoi, Nov 29, : .Vietnam received approximately 15,000 international visitors in November after the launch of a pilot vaccination passport program.This was an increase of 42.4 percent from October, according to the country’s General Statistics Office. Vietnam allows visitors who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to enter Vietnam from November without having to be quarantined in five locations: the northern Quang Ninh Province, the central Da Nang City, Quang Nam province and Khanh Hoa provincial.
According to Xinhua news agency, this is part of Vietnam’s efforts for tourism revival after long Covid restrictions.
Around 140,100 foreign visitors visited Vietnam in the first 11 months, mostly from Asia, which sank 96.3 percent year-on-year.According to the office, almost 69% of visitors arrived in Vietnam by air.
According to the office, the country in Southeast Asia hosted just over 3.8 million international visitors in 2020.This is a drop of 78.7 percent from the record 18 million in 2019, which was the last full year before Covid broke out.
