New Delhi, Nov 26 : , India’s foremost industrialist and philanthropist Anil Agarwal has been awarded the Philanthropy award at the Asian Business Awards 2021.This award recognizes his outstanding contributions to humanitarianism initiatives that focus on healthcare, education and sanitation as well as skill development and sustainable livelihood.
His philanthropic pursuits are an inspiration to the world for his charitable foundation, Anil Agarwal Foundation.This foundation has made an outstanding social impact in rural India through Vedanta’s multiple care initiatives.These initiatives, which include Nand Ghar and Swatch Goan Abhiyaan have helped improve the quality of life for over 4.23 million people.The group spent more than Rs 331 crore to bring about inclusive and sustainable growth that is also integrated with social-economic development in 2020-21.

The 23rd annual Asian Business Award is hosted by Eastern Eye, Britain’s largest selling English-language Asian newspaper.

The award celebrates Asian entrepreneurship and business success.Winners are honored at the annual gathering of Britain’s most successful and wealthy businessmen and women.The prestigious assemblage in London on November 19 recognized Agarwal for his outstanding contribution to empowering underprivileged communities.Agarwal’s universal mission to give back to society has made it a living inspiration for many around the world.

Vedanta contributed more to corporate social responsibility than the 2 percent required by government last year.Every year, the group surpasses its own expectations in terms of its grassroots transformation work.

Vedanta’s flagship initiative, ‘Swasth Gaon Abhiyaan,’ provides comprehensive healthcare services in 1,000 villages across 12 states.This has the potential to improve the lives of more than 2 million people.
