B’luru launches a ‘Vaccine Vehicle’ to deliver Covid vaccination door-to-door

Bengaluru, Nov 24, : , Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, Karnataka’s capital, launched a ‘Vaccine Vehicle’ special programme on Wednesday to provide door-to-door Covid-19 vaccination.
On the day, Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commissioner of BBMP, flagged off around 80 vaccine two-wheelers (cars), and 16 mobile vaccination vans or cars.

Each zone will receive eight two-wheelers, two mobile vaccination vans (cars), for block and lane level vaccination drives.Every vehicle will also have a data entry operator (verifier).

Up to date, 1,36,99,000.018 doses were administered in the city.This includes 80,57.563 first dose (88%), and 56,41.455 second dose (62%).

All Urban Primary Health Centres within the Palike limits have been administering vaccines in conjunction with camps set up at Yelahanka’s Dr B.R.As part of Bruhat Laika Mela, Ambedkar Bhavan as well as Malleshwaram Youngsters Kabbadi Playground administer the vaccine.

Block and lane-level vaccination drives were also implemented to increase vaccination rates in the city.Citizens who have received the first dose of vaccination but not the second will be identified in the city and vaccinated.

This can be done by calling them and reminding them.

In order to increase vaccination rates, health teams from the respective assembly constituencies have taken up the drive to visit every household to administer the vaccine.

Up to now, around 70 wards have seen health teams and 35,000 people have been jabbed.

According to the electoral roll, anyone over 18 who has not received a vaccine are being identified and vaccinated.
