Washington, November 23, : , The average daily number of Covid-19-related infections reported in the US over seven days has increased by 18%, according to Rochelle Walensky, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director. According to Xinhua, Walensky stated that the latest 7-day average number of patients is 92 800 per day.This represents an 18% increase from last week.Hospitalisation rates have increased 6 percent with a daily average hospitalisation rate of 5,600.
Walensky stated that it was crucial to boost people’s protection against Covid-19 death and disease now, especially as we move into winter, when the risk of respiratory viruses spreading is higher, Walensky added.
She said that the pandemic continues to be driven by those who are not vaccinated.
The most recent information from the CDC data tracker shows that unvaccinated individuals are six times more likely than others to get the virus.They also have a nine-fold greater chance of being hospitalized and a fourteen-fold higher risk of dying.
Walensky stated that approximately 47 million Americans and 12 million teens in the United States are not yet vaccinated.
According to CDC data, the total number of Americans who have been fully vaccinated has reached 196.4 million.36.1 million people have also received a booster vaccine.
