Lucknow, Dec 1, : The Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force (STF), has arrested the Director, Noida-based printing press, and another key suspect from Baghpat, for their alleged involvement with the question paper leakage of the UP Teachers Eligibility Test 2021.(UPTET-2021).
After being called to the STF office at Noida on Monday, he was taken into custody on Tuesday.It was discovered that he had not kept the question paper secret while printing it.Prasad stated that the Secretary of Exam Regulation Authority issued a work order on October 26 to his printing company for the UPTET-2021 paper.A senior STF officer stated that he was found to have broken the secrecy protocol by printing the papers, which led to the exam being cancelled and the papers leaked.
According to the police official, Prasad was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 409 (criminal breach or trust), and 420 (cheating) and sent into jail after being presented before a judge.The STF also arrested another suspect from Badaut, Baghpat district.
Rahul Chowdhury (30), of Chajjarpur village, Baghpat was taken into custody from his shoe shop, near Vedic Degree College, Baghpat.He had one set of question papers and admit cards for the second shift UPTET-2021.
According to the press release, Rahul and one Feroz, a Baghpats Kirthal resident, ran the racket from the Shoe Shop.Balram Rathi, Shahpur, Muzaffarnagar.
Rahul, a Kandhla resident, revealed to STF officers that he had arranged the UPTET paper from Ravi on Saturday evening.According to STF officers, he allegedly sold the papers to several people for Rs 50,000 per candidate.
A source claimed that Rahul also told them of a plan to compromise ongoing online examinations for recruitment sub-inspectors to UP Police.The accused had allegedly set up an online hacking lab to hack the online exam portal.
However, they were unable to do so due the alertness of NCEIT (the agency that conducted the online exam).UPTET is a state-level exam that is conducted once a calendar year.
It allows candidates to be eligible to teach primary (1-4) and upper primary (6-8) in government schools.After the leak was discovered, the government had to cancel UPTET-2021, which was scheduled for November 28, after 29 people were arrested from five districts in Uttar Pradesh.
Some question papers were also recovered from these people on November 27th evening, hours before Sundays exam.The police stated that 18 people were taken into custody from Prayagraj and four from Lucknow.
Three each from Shamli, Ayodhya and Shamli were also arrested.One person was also taken into custody from Kaushambi in connection to the paper leak.amita/khz/ #suspects #leakage #Delhi.
