Official from UP suspended over TET paper leak

Lucknow, December 1, : The Yogi Amityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has suspended Sanjay Kumar Upadhyay as Secretary of the state’s exam regulatory authority.
This action comes just two days after the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test was cancelled due to a question paper leak.

Upadhyay was charged with conducting the exam and any lapses.He has been subject to a disciplinary investigation by the government.

UPTET is the minimum qualification required to be eligible for a teaching position in government schools.

Anamika Singh, Basic Education Secretary, issued a suspension order stating that Upadhyay was prima facie guilty of not maintaining the sanctity and confidentiality of the examination.

According to the order, the state government has been criticized for cancelling the exam because of the leak before it could begin.The leak indicates that Upadhyay did not conduct the exam smoothly.

Governor Anandiben Patel has approved that the exam be suspended.

Upadhyay was attached to the Basic Education Directorate of Lucknow during his suspension.

More than 20 million people had registered for the UPTET scheduled for November 28.After leaked questions, the UPTET was cancelled.

29 of the accused were arrested by UP STF and 20 others were taken into custody from different areas.
