Uorfi Javed, 4 others booked over a viral video by Mumbai Police

Mumbai, Nov 3 : Social media influencer Uorfi Javed, who is known for her unusual sense of dressing, has been booked along with four others by the Mumbai police.

Earlier, on Friday, Uorfi was seen in a now viral video being asked by actors, dressed as police personnel, to follow them to the police station over obscenity.

The video was a staged one to gain reaction on social media which is Uorfis turf.

However, things went south for her as Mumbai Police took a congnisance of the matter and registered a case against her and four others over the viral video.

Mumbai Police also clarified that the video is fake, and the Mumbai Police insignia and uniform have been misused.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Mumbai Police shared a screenshot from the video.

The police wrote: "One Cant Violate Law Of The Land, For Cheap Publicity.A viral video of a woman being allegedly arrested by Mumbai Police, in a case of obscenity is not true - insignia & uniform have been misused.

"

They further mentioned: "However, a criminal case has been registered against those involved in the misleading video, at Oshiwara Police station under sections 171, 419, 500, 34 IPC.While further investigation is on, the fake inspector is under arrest & the vehicle has been seized too.#RealityCheck."
