A war of words between TRS and BJP is going on regarding paddy procurement in Telangana.The two parties also staged protests regarding paddy procurement in the state.
While the TRS, which is in power in the state, is blaming the union govt, the BJP is incensed that the attitude of the state government is not correct.It is learned that recently a group of Telangana ministers met Union Minister Piyush Goyal regarding grain purchases.
In this order, the union govt gave an explanation regarding the collection of grain in Telangana.The Center has said that it will continue to procure grain in the state as usual.
It said the grain would be procured at a previously fixed minimum support price.
Recently, several ministers, led by state agriculture minister Niranjan Reddy, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar met Union Minister Piyush Goyal in Delhi.
However, after the meeting, Niranjan Reddy spoke to the media.He said that they came to Delhi with high hopes but they were disappointed.
The Union Minister said that the state should not allow paddy to be planted during the Yasangi season.
