Two South Koreans escape TN Police and reach Manipur to flee India

Chennai, Nov 29, : Two South Korean nationals were released from police custody in Tamil Nadu’s Chengalpattu District last month.

They flew to Manipur and are believed to have crossed into India, according to police sourcesIANS was told by sources in the Police Department that the duo escaped from Chengalpattus 8th floor multi-storey building.

They were there to serve a court verdict on October 29.The police launched a manhunt for the pair and found that they had reached Imphal, where they would have crossed the international border.According to police sources, they are currently in contact with South Korean authorities to determine if they have returned to South Korea.

Sources claim that the South Koreans had received ground support in Tamil Nadu, and they would have created fake documents to facilitate their escape.The couple were placed in Tiruchis special cell.

They appealed to Madras High Court for private accommodation under surveillance, but their request was denied.They appealed to the Supreme Court, which granted permission and directed Tamil Nadu Police that this be done.

They rented the 8th floor accommodation in a multi-story building at Orgadam, where they managed to escape, despite a guard outside their flat.Police believe they traveled by road to Hyderabad and then flew to Imphal.
