Kolkata, November 14 : .Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister, might have to delay the hearing of her petition on Nandigram elections results.

This petition was due to be heard at Calcutta High Court Monday.However, Suvendu Adhikari, Leader of Opposition filed a petition asking the Supreme Court to transfer the case to another court.
The case was supposed to come up for hearing after a gap of nearly four months.After a nearly four-month gap, the case was scheduled to be heard.

Legal experts are of the opinion that the High Court might defer the case and wait for the verdict of the Supreme Court.Experts in legal law believe that the High Court could defer the case to wait for the Supreme Court’s verdict.

They also opine that the process of development of the Chief Minister’s petition that is presently lying before the bench of Justice Shampa Sarkar might get further delayed because of the petition in the apex court.The petition at the Supreme Court might also delay the development of Chief Minister’s petition, which is currently before Justice Shampa Sharkar.

The petition filed by Banerjee challenging the result of the Nandigram elections, where she was defeated by Adhikari by a margin of 1,965 votes and alleging manipulation was initially assigned to the bench of Justice Kaushik Chanda.Banerjee filed a petition challenging the results of the Nandigram election, in which she was defeated by Adhikari with a margin of 1,965 voters.The petition also alleges manipulation.Justice Kaushik Chanda was originally assigned the bench.

However, the Calcutta High Court has asked the Election Commission to preserve all the documents relating to the election and results of Nandigram.
