Hyderabad, Nov 28, : , Two labourers died and two others were taken ill while cleaning a tank in Hyderabad on Sunday.Police said. The incident took place at Gautami Enclave, Kondapur.Police say the workers were cleaning out an apartment building’s septic tank when they became unconscious and fell asleep.
Two labourers were the first to enter the septic tank.They both died from suffocation after complaining.
Two more labourers entered the septic tank later.They both became unconscious and died from poisonous gas inhalation.
The bodies were pulled out by fire services and police officers and taken to a hospital for autopsy.
Anjaiah, Srinu were the names of the deceased.
They were both residents of Singareni Colony in Champapet, Hyderabad and were originally from Nalgonda.
Two other labourers became ill and were admitted to hospital.
Police opened an investigation and registered a case.An officer from the fire service stated that the workers had not been wearing safety gear, which led to the tragedy.
The family members of the deceased ran to the scene and demanded justice.
Online, apartment owners contacted a contractor to clean their septic tank.
The contractor sent in labourers to clear the obstruction after a tanker was deployed.
