The leader in question — Mrinalini Mondal Maity — is not only the President of the Old Malda Panchayat Samity but is also the president of Malda district Trinamool Congress.
Mrinalini claimed the photograph was almost one year old but the opposition refused to buy her version.
The opposition claims that this is not her first controversy.She has been in trouble on numerous occasions before.Recently, Mrinalini’s husband was accused in a brutal beating of a worker at the Block Development Office (BDO).After the incident, she was accused of shielding her husband.
” They believe that keeping arms is part of their culture.She is simply following the tradition.
They have put Malda and the state on a heap full of gunpowder over the past 11 years.You might even find bombs and AK47 if you do a search.”That has become a part their culture,” a senior BJP leader stated.
Trinamool Congress District President Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury spoke to the media.
He said that it was not right to display arms in government offices.Police will determine if the gun is real or fake.The law will decide.”
