Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob visited Singapore on an official visit.He stopped by the causeway to observe a ceremony marking the reopening of the causeway under the Vaccinated Travel Lane, Xinhua reported.

“As close, near neighbours, the deep relationship between Malaysia and Singapore has immense importance for both sides.He said that more active multilevel engagements and stronger cooperation are certain to be the best for our two countries.

He stated, “This is also critical for our contact of collaboration in undertaking effective recovery efforts, so our countries will be stronger after the devastating effects of the Covid pandemic.”

Ismail Sabri stated that talks are ongoing to increase the number crossing points, including from a second bridge link, as well as to allow private vehicles to make this trip.

Travellers can only use special buses to cross the border, while air travelers are restricted to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport(KLIA) or Singapore’s Changi Airport.

Travel under the VTL will be exempted from quarantine for fully vaccinated persons.

Other standard operating procedures are in place to prevent the spread and spread of Covid.
