Los Angeles, Nov 29, : Tom Ford, former Gucci creative director, said that he couldn’t see the humor and camp in Ridley Scott’s film “House of Gucci” because he was so close the scandal.However, he still believes the movie would be a “hit”. He wrote in an essay for digital weekly Air Mail: “I recently survived a screening of the two-hour-and-37-minute film that is ‘House of Gucci’.The sheer number of actors that were cast in this shining, ambitious, beautifully shot and costumed tale about greed and murder is amazing.The movie is as subtle as the nighttime soap Dynasty, but with a larger budget .”
“I felt deeply sad for several days after watching House of Gucci.This is a reaction that only those who were familiar with the play and the players will feel.It was difficult for me to see the humor and camp in something so bloody.It was not camp in real life.It was sometimes absurd, but ultimately, it was tragic.
“But with Gaga and Driver’s strong performances and powerful over-the top portrayals by the entire cast of actors, impeccable costumes and stunning sets, the film, it is my suspicion, will be a big hit.He said that Gucci products sell when you splash the name all over them,” femalefirst.co.uk reports.
The ‘A Single Man” filmmaker was impressed by Lady Gaga’s, Adam Driver, Salmahayek, and Jeremy Irons performances in the movie.Ford, however, didn’t comment on Reeve Carney’s portrayal of him.
He wrote, “Leto’s brilliance in acting is literally buried beneath latex prosthetics.Both performers are allowed to be absolute hams, not prosciutto-type hams.
They must have had a lot of fun.Paolo, who I had the pleasure of meeting on multiple occasions, was indeed eccentric.He did some crazy things, but his demeanour was not like Leto’s crazed and apparently mentally challenged performance.
