“Thirteen Lives” actress Pattrakorn Tungsupakul gives praise to director

Mumbai 9 August : Thai actress Pattrakorn Tungsupakul, whose newly released film “Thirteen Lives” is receiving positive feedback and has had a pleasant experience when she was working in the film that is based on a real story.
The actress recently heaped admiration on her director Ron Howard for being a good listener and for his active involvement in the exchange of ideas during the process of creation.

The survival drama retells the tale of the year 2018, in which the Thai soccer team was stranded in the Thai Luang Cave for nearly three weeks.The director of the film, Ron Howard left no stone unturned in bringing the essence of Thai culture into the film.

He employed Thai experts to enhance the story.

Alongside them, Ron also relied on actors from the region.

One particular actress that made an impression was Pattrakorn Tungsupakul.The 33-year-old actress plays the role of Buahom who is an unmarried mother who’s son is fighting for life with other people in the cave while she is waiting outside.

Tungsupakul is the name of a local of Chiang Mai, a city that is close to the Tham Luang Cave, and that’s why director Ron Howard thought she’d be an ideal fit to play the role.

In a rousing tribute to her director, Pattrakorn stated: “Ron always asked me”What do you want to accomplish?’ What do you want me to say What do you want to say?’ And he was listening.Because he believed in me so strongly I needed prepare myself and be more efficient.I had to apply my knowledge and experience to this project.’

But she had to overcome challenges in making her character because she was unable to be able to meet any of the survivors.Instead, she took help from the media footage available.

“The journalists kept asking how do you feel?’ What do you feel?’ You must be feeling sad.’ It was awful.However, for mepersonally, it was beneficial because I’m required to conduct research and I want to know the true reactions,” she explained.

In comparing her character to that of a mother who is waiting for her child to recover, Howard said, “She’s the most universally relatable character in the movie.In terms of drama, she’s the most tragic.”
