New Delhi, Nov 30, : , Congress MP Shashi Tharoor offered an apology for posting his photograph on the first day in the winter session.Tharoor posted a Selfie of six women MPs, including Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan from Trinamool, Congress’ Prenet Kaur, Jothiman Sennimalai and Congress’ Prenet Kaur, and NCP’s Supriya Suele.
He also wrote: “Who said the Lok Sabha wasn’t an attractive place for work?” This morning, I was joined by six of my fellow MPs.
Tharoor was quickly criticized for posting this tweet.
Later Tharoor stated, “The whole Selfie thing (at the women MPs’ initiative) was done in great good humor & it was them who asked me to tweet the same spirit.I’m sorry if some people are offended, but I was happy to be included in this show of workplace camaraderie. That’s it.
Urban shrink, one of the Twitter users, wrote that camaraderie and an attractive workplace are not the same thing.I’m sure you can tell the difference with your English language skills. You have shown sexism. Please don’t cover it up.
