Shimla 20 August, Shimla : The state-run government led by chief minister Jai Ram Thakur made sure that Himachal Pradesh emerges as frontrunner in development with its determination, hard work, and commitment to ensuring the welfare of the people.All this was made possible because of the double engine governments, BJP president J.P.Nadda said on the weekend.At a public forum in Paonta Sahib town in Sirmaur district to mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark the 75th anniversary of freedom of India, Nadda said because of the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Thakur, BJP leaders always discuss the progress in the Centre and in the state.
He stated that the BJP government was determined to live up to the demands of the people since the government was proactive.
The central government was determined to making India an ‘Vishwa Guru’.
Nadda, who is a resident of this state, encouraged the people to adhere to the five pledges made by the Premier Minister in the Red Fort while addressing the nation on Independence Day.
He claimed that vaccines of measles Japanese fever, and polio required years following the invention of the vaccine to be available in India however, with the efforts of Prime Minister Modi made, the vaccine against coronavirus was created within 9 months of the first instance of Covid-19.
He stated that in addition to providing more than 200 crore free vaccines in the country, the vaccines were also provided to over 100 countries.
He also praised the work of the government of the state in being the first state in giving the first and second doses of the vaccine.
Nadda claimed that it was possible because of the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur to ensure that the government does not be swayed by fraudulent assurances of the Opposition.
The BJP president also said that the Central government also did well in returning over 24,000 schoolchildren of the country who were stranded in Ukraine from Ukraine, of which 430 were students from Himachal Pradesh.
He claimed that even students of Pakistan were successful in being able to escape Ukraine by displaying the Indian flag on their vehicles.
He claimed that this was the image of evolving India and was possible due to the steadfast leadership of the Prime Minister.
He declared that the opening of Atal Tunnel was also an offer of the Prime Minister to the citizens of the state.
He declared that with the completion of the tunnel the vision of Atal Bihari Vajpayee came true.He stated that work on the Rs.7,000 crore Renuka dam project was initiated by the current Centre as well as the state government.
He stated that 1.72 lakh toilets had been built in the country as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
He declared that Himachal Pradesh has emerged a smoke-free state because of the Ujjawala Yajna of the Centre and the Grihini Suvidha Yojna of the state government.
Thakur stated that it was the luck of the state that the President considered Himachal Pradesh his second home and was always considerate of the development requirements of the state.
He stated that during the outbreak, the national leadership made sure nobody in the nation was deprived of food masks, sanitisers, and other necessities.
He stated that the workers of the party in the state performed an admirable job during the pandemic, by distributing more than 50 lakh masks for the most in need.
