San Francisco, November 23rd : , Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the Model S Plaid car may launch in China in March 2022. Musk replied to a Twitter question about the arrival of an electric car in China.
He said, “probably around March”.
China, home to over 1.4 billion people is the biggest electric vehicle market worldwide.CNBC reports that there are several electric vehicle manufacturers in China, including Xpeng (and Nio)
The Model S Plaid was launched by Tesla in June 2018.It cost $129,990.It has a range of 520 miles and can travel up to 200 mph (320 km/h).
Musk stated that the car would launch faster than Porsche, but be safer than Volvo when it was first launched.
The auto-tech site Electrek says that while imports from China can increase the cost of the vehicle significantly, it is less expensive to purchase the Plaid which has the highest performance.
Tesla has a large base of wealthy customers that like the most recent top-of-the-line Tesla vehicles.The Model S Plaid is the current model.
