Hyderabad 6 September : Hyderabad, Sep 6 : Telangana government has clarified on Tuesday that the immersion of Ganesh idols created of Plaster of Paris (PoP) is not permitted in Hussain Sagar lake in Hyderabad according to the directives of the High Court.However authorities will allow the to allow the immersion of clay idols in Hussain Sagar, the lake in the middle of the city.
POP idols can be buried in the 31 baby lakes as well as 74 baby ponds in the city, according to the report.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has taken arrangements in this in this regard.
Up to 130 mobile cranes and 280 cranes cranes have been put in place.
More than 10,000 sanitation staff have been recruited to assist with the process of immersion.
The state government has come out with an explanation to dispel the misinformation that is that has been spread on social media sites about Ganesh participation in Hussain Sagar.
A number of tweets were posted on Tuesday by FactCheck_Telangana the Twitter handle of the government of the state to check the accuracy of false information.
The High Court, in its decision dated 21st July, 2022 has confirmed that the involvement of POP idols in Hussain Sagar is prohibited beginning this year.
Another tweet stated that BJP state president Bandi Sanjay is spreading false information about Bhagya Nagar Utsav Samithi (BGUS) activists were detained for demanding peaceful immersion in the water and appropriate arrangements.”The truth is that the police detained them for holding an event without prior authorization.As per the City Police Act, such events require prior approval.
Any violation is dealt with in accordance with the law.Additionally because of the Assembly session in progress the prohibitory orders will be in effect within a 4-km distance surrounding the Assembly,” it said.
Sanjay said that activists were detained for requesting arrangements for immersion.In actual fact, GHMC officials stated that all arrangements are being created for the immersion.
Hyderabad Police on Tuesday morning thwarted attempts by BGUS leaders to organize an event on bikes near Hussain Sagar.
Samithi, the organisation that organizes the annual celebrations requested that the government permit immersion as in the past without restrictions.
It has issued a plea to all Ganesh mandap organizers to arrange the idols to be immersed in Hussain Sagar on the last day, in obvious contravention of the High Court of Telangana’s orders and the Supreme Court orders last year that prohibited immersion of idols made of PoP.
Sanjay has also threatened that if idols aren’t allowed to be submerged in Hussain Sagar the organisers will be compelled to transport the idols to Pragati Bhavan, the official residence of the Chief Minister.
The nine-day celebrations, which started on the 31st of August with the erection of thousands of idols, will conclude on the 9th of September with massive immersion parade.Idols from all regions of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and the outskirts are taken to Hussain Sagar to be immersed.
