Taliban forbids Women from Taking part in TV Dramas

According to the BBC, women have been barred from participating in Afghanistans television dramas under the Taliban-led governmentReporters and female journalists have been instructed to cover their heads onscreen.

However, the guidelines dont specify which kind of covering.According to the BBC, some rules can be interpreted in a vague way by reporters.

Eight new guidelines have been added to the latest Taliban guidelines that were issued to Afghan TV channels.The report also stated that films against Islamic law or Afghan values are banned.Films showing intimate body parts are prohibited.

Also prohibited are comedy and entertainment that offend religions or could be considered offensive to Afghans.According to the report, Taliban insisted on the ban of broadcasting foreign films that promote foreign cultural values.

Afghan TV channels mostly show foreign dramas featuring lead female characters.Hujatullah Mujaddedi is a member of an organization that represents Afghan journalists.
