T10: Bangla batting wins again to make it five wins in a row

Abu Dhabi, Nov 27, : Building on a solid partnership between openers Johnson Charles, and Hazratullah Zai, the Bangla Tigers moved to the number one position in Abu Dhabi T10 after a win over the Chennai Braves on Saturday.

The Tigers came out firing in pursuit and won their fifth edition. The Tigers are now at the top of the points table, despite having the same number as Team Abu Dhabi.

This is due to a better run rate. The Chennai Braves, who were looking for their first win, suffered another disappointing outing when they lost their seventh match of the tournament.

Charles and Zazai have been one of the most dangerous opening duos in this tournament.Against the Braves bowling attack they barely broke a sweat in overhauling an over that required them to score less than 10 runs per over.

The right-handed Charles opened the attack by scoring a four off Mark Deyals final delivery.Zazai won the next over, scoring 22 runs in the second chase.

The bowling team was left with no choice as Deyal, who had bowled a clean first over, was run out of steam in the second, conceding 23 runs. The openers showed little respect for Kevin Koththigoda’s mystery spin and found two sixes as well as one four from the bowlers over to bring their team closer towards a comprehensive win.Charles dismissal of Roman Walker allowed Will Jacks, in his best form, to finish the chase by putting Dhananjaya Lashan in the stands.Hazratullah Ziai was left stranded with an undefeated 46, 5 sixes, and 2 fours.

After being batted in by Faf Du Plessis, the Chennai Braves failed to get on track. They scored only 29 runs in the first four overs and lost opener Toby Albert.

Mohammad Shahzad who hasn’t enjoyed the best forms in the tournament seemed to be getting back on track when he hit his countrymate with a six and four.Ahmed got the last laugh and sent Shahzad home for 32.After Shahzads departure Mark Deyal was the only batsman to make an impact.Deyal was eventually outed for 28 in the penultimate innings.
