Anxiety raised by students under the auspices of the ABVP demanding reduction of degree and PG fees has led to tension.Students protest in front of OU administration building to reduce fees.
Hundreds of students from colleges in the versity range have been heavily deployed by Protest before the University administration building.Hundreds of students tried to push police and security personnel into the administration building, leading to intense tension.
Students at Mahatma Gandhi Universities, including Osmania, Kakatiya, JNTU and Hyderabad, have slammed the decision to increase engineering, pharmacy and PG course fees by a huge amount.In Osmania, which has a hundred years of history, the fees for regular MA (Arts, Social Science) regular courses have been increased from Rs 2,800 to Rs 14,000.
Self Finance Courses Fees increased from Rs 3800 to Rs 30,000 for MBA.Student leaders objected to the increase from Rs 35,000 .For MCom Rs.30,000 and for MBA Rs.35,000.
Engineering course fees have been increased drastically .Rs.From 18 thousand to 35 thousand .The students said that the fee for self finance courses has been increased to 75 thousand.He was outraged that the Artificial Intelligence course ‘fee’ was increased to Rs 1,20,000.
The versity is flagging in earnest as it follows business policies.Tensions erupted as protesters staged a dharna demanding immediate reduction of inflated fees and resolution of hostels issues.
There was a scuffle between the police and the students in order to stop the students.Pushing the gates at once .the students pushed the police aside and ran into the administration building.The mirrors of the administration building were smashed.
VC raised concerns in front of the chamber.They are worried that the fees will have to be reduced.
This created a tense situation on the OU campus.
