Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’: The most daunting film in my career

Mumbai, Nov 28, 2008 : Steven Spielberg, a renowned Hollywood filmmaker, says that the film adaptation of West Side Story is his most difficult work.

It tells the classic story of young love and fierce rivalries in 1957 New York City.Spielberg shares his feelings about directing the film, which combines the best of Broadway and Hollywood "This film is probably my most difficult.

Spielberg stated that West Side Story was undoubtedly the greatest theatre score ever written "It can be very intimidating to take a masterpiece, and make it through different eyes and sensibilities without compromising its integrity.It is generally considered to be the greatest theatre music ever written.
