Sri Lanka PM Mahinda Rajapaksa steps down

Colombo, May 9 : Amid a nation-wide stir demanding his removal, Sri Lanka Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Monday quit from his post, media reports said.

The development came in the wake of island-wide curfew being slapped after clashes between pro and anti-government supporters in Colombo and elsewhere, the Daily Mirror reported.
