We were blessed with 35,000 eyes from Sri Lanka, but our sight was lost. Pakistan’s ophthalmologist helped us to see.

New Delhi, Dec 5, : Pakistan is the largest recipient for eye donations from Sri Lanka.It has received at least 35,000 corneas in total since 1967, according to Dr Niaz Brohi of Samaa TV.

According to the report, he said that "We hang on to shame".To express condolences, he wrote to the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society.

Brohi, who was once the head of Spencer Eye Hospital in Karachi has performed many cornea transplants.He stated that Sri Lanka had donated 83,200 corneas in different countries around the world.

Brohi claims that Pakistan is the largest recipient for Sri Lankan cornea donations, having received 40% of them.According to the report, 35,000 Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society corneas have been donated to Pakistan since 1967.Dr.M.H.performed Pakistans first corneal transplant at Spencer Eye Hospital.Rizvi says that the cornea was donated from Sri Lanka by Rizvi.
