Sri Lankan cricketers send out emotional messages to Mickey Arthur, their coach.

Colombo : November 18th, 2018 - Sri Lankan cricketers posted emotional messages to social media following Mickey Arthurs announcement that he would be stepping down as chief coach.

His last assignment as a Sri Lankan player was a series of two Tests against West Indies.It began on November 21.After it was revealed that Arthur would be leaving Sri Lankas Test Team Captain role, Dimuth Karaunaratne described Arthur as the best-performing and most supportive coach.Karunaratne shared a photo with Arthur via Twitter.

"You made us believe that we can do it." You were the best person to guide us.It is a sad day to be saying goodbye to my most supportive and hardworking coach.We are grateful for your leadership skills.

Arthur, a Zimbabwean tactician, will take over at Derbyshire.He has already decided to retire from the County team in 2021.

Arthur was named coach of Sri Lanka in February 2020.He described his assignment as both an "exciting task" and "a new challenge".
