Socialite and husband are arrested in multi-crore cheating cases in Hyd

Hyderabad, Nov 27, : Hyderabad police arrested socialite Shilpa Choudary and Tella Krishna Srinivas Prasad on Saturday in connection to a multi-crore case of cheating.

After a case was filed against them at the Narsingi Police Station under the Cyberabad Commissionerate, Shilpa Chowdary (46) and Prasad (56) were taken into custody.A woman filed a complaint with police alleging that Shilpa wasnt returning her Rs 1.05 cr, which she had given to Shilpa a year back for investment in real-estate business.According to police, the woman was a friend Shilpas and used to attend Shilpas kitty parties.

The complainant claimed that Shilpa wasnt responding to her texts or calls.She also claimed that the accused threatened her family members with using bouncers.

The couple were taken into police custody and interrogated.As part of the investigation, they also checked their bank accounts.

Police are continuing their investigation as the couple is suspected of having cheated others by promising them high returns on investments.A police officer stated that the couple had taken Rs 5-6 Crore from someone.

Several women approached police to complain about Shilpa after learning of their arrest.M.Venkateshwarlu (Deputy Commissioner of Police) said that they will question the couple to find out more about their investments and who gave them the money.The misdeeds of the couple are believed to have been committed by eminent people, including those in the film industry.

The majority of the victims are believed to have been those who used to go to Shilpa’s kitty parties.During the initial investigations, the police learned that Shipla had produced a Telugu film.
