Slovenia’s Q3 GDP Grew 5% YO-Y

Ljubljana : , Slovenia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 5% year-on-year during the third quarter (Q3) and 1.3% quarter-on quarter, according to the country’s statistical bureau.
According to Xinhua news agency, the country’s GDP grew by 7.4% in the first nine months of the year.

The office stated that “as in the previous quarter.household spending and gross investment contributed the most to GDP Growth.”

In Q3, household spending increased by 9.3% year-on-year.During the period, investments increased by 27%, exports by 10.6 % and imports by 19.9%.

The increase in fuel and transport prices led to a 4.9% increase in Slovenia’s harmonised Consumer Price Index (inflation rate).

The Covid-19 pandemic severely affected the country and its GDP fell by 4.2% in 2020.The government predicts that the economy will grow by 6.1% in 2021, and its export-oriented economy will rebound in 2021.
