Six-time Congress MLA Mohammed Ali dies

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 20 : Six-time Congress legislator K.Mohammed Ali passed away at a hospital near Aluva on Tuesday, party sources said.

76-year-old Ali was a staunch supporter of A.K.Antony and Oommen Chandy and had represented the Aluva assembly constituency for a record six times starting from 1980 till 2006.At the 2006 assembly polls, Ali suffered a reversal and lost the polls and after which he quit parliamentary politics.

But in 2021, his sons wife created a jolt, contesting on a CPI-M ticket lost to sitting Congress legislator Anwar Sadath at Alis home constituency.Ali for a while now was keeping ill health and was staying away from active politics.
