Shrikant Tyagi sent to 14-day court detention

Lucknow 9 August : Self-proclaimed BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi, who was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly abusing and assaulting a female in the housing society he runs in Noida and was taken into 14-day judicial custody.

Tyagi declared that he was in his rights to plant trees.The videos of the incident became all over social media An FIR was registered and Tyagi was arrested in accordance with Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code.

He disappeared after the case was filed against him.Tyagi declared himself to be the executive member of the national level of the BJPs Kisan Morcha as well as the national coordinator of the partys Yuva Samiti, even though the partys ruling coalition denied any connections with Tyagi.Tyagi was finally detained on Tuesday from Meerut.
