Manika and Sharath to take on the challenge of India at World TT Championships

Nine Indian players will be competing at the 2021 ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals in Houston (USA) starting Tuesday, November 23Sharath and Sathiyan have done very well recently competing in World Table Tennis Contender Series, particularly in team competition.

They won medals in both doubles and mixed pairs.Other players who will be part of Indias contingent at the tournament, which ends on November 29, are Anthony Amalraj and Archana Girish Kamalth.

Sharath recently rose two spots to the 30th spot in mens singles ranking.Manika, Manika, and Sathiyan won the mixed doubles title at the WTT Contender in Hungary.

Manika, Archana, won the title at the WTT Contender in Slovenia.SAthiyan, who is currently ranked 37th worldwide is also the second-best Indian player in the field.

This contingent includes four top Indian singles players, Manav Thakkar excluded.Indians can expect to perform at their best in mixed, mens and womens doubles.

Indias best hope for womens singles is Manika.India won two bronze medals at the World Table Tennis Championships, both in 1926 editions.

Bronze SRG Suppiah finished third in mens singles, while Suppiah was third in mens teams comprising Athar Ali Fyzee and Hassan Ali Fyzee.Houston wont host the team competitions, as these have been held separately from individual competitions since 2001.
