‘I’ was all set for a mammoth release on the 14th of this month but as per the latest reports the film was halted due to financial issues.
According to the latest updates, the Madras High Court has given a three weeks stay on release of this film responding to a petition filed by one of the financiers.Justice R Mahadevan granted the interim injunction on a petition by Picturehouse Media Limited alleging violation of financial and commercial agreements between it and producers Aascar Films (Private) Ltd.As per reports producer of the film Aascar Ravichandran was supposed to pay 19 crores to Picturehouse Media.The court has given deadline as Jan 30 to producer to respond on the petition.
Producer Ravichandran however expressed confidence that there will be no change in the films release date."Everything will be sorted out very soon and the film will release as planned earlier," he said.
The sudden decision of the court turned shocker for fans across the world who waiting to watch the celluloid wonder.
