New Delhi, Sep 7 : BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in an event at the party’s headquarters in Delhi, has advised all ministers to provide their attention to the activities of the party. The meeting was held on Tuesday, to discuss preparations of the party to run in the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024.
According to reports, Shah expressed displeasure over the fact that many ministers do not spend time in their areas of influence according to the timetable set by the party’s governing body.
Shah clarified to all ministers that it was their responsibility to finish the tasks of the organization without compromising their responsibilities as ministers.
Additionally, he also praised the ministers who performed well in their respective constituencies.
To win the most number of seats “lost,” Shah claimed that in 2019 the party gained 30 percent of the seats that they had been unable to win in the earlier elections, and it is expected to win 50 percent in the coming Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
The BJP is preparing special efforts this time for the 144 seats they was unable to win in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. These seats in various states include those where the party’s candidate was third or second or on which the party had a win at some time, but was not able to gain the seat in the year 2019.
The party’s ministers will be assigned to the 144 constituencies in between October and January 2023.
Ministers will also be required the responsibility of visiting their respective Lok Sabha constituencies during the time.
They are being instructed to rest for the night in the region, eat food at the local workers’ houses and to interact with the grass-root workers.
