Sectors in WASH and waste management could attract $8bn in investment: Report

New Delhi, Nov 28, : .A new report claims that a number of sectors in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and Waste Management fields can attract investments of $8 billion by 2030, up to $3 billion in 2020, and generate revenues of $75 billion, up $30 billion in 2020.

" This was in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which envision universal access to WASH services in all its member countries by 2030.The report, which was released earlier this week, highlighted the potential in WASH and Waste Management services.

It also included the following investment ideas: drinking and desalination plants, liquid waste management: grey water treatment and black water treatment, faecal waste collection & transport, waste to energy, solid refuse management: collection, recycling, transportation, communal facilities, sanitation workers skillsing, and safety equipment.Naina Lal Kidwai is a former top banker who is now with Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
