Narra Venkata Krishnaprasad has been appointed as the new chairman of Sangam Dairy.Sangam Dairy directors met at Ponnur Mandal Chintalapudi and made this decision.
Dhulipala Narendra Kumar, who has been the chairman till now, is currently on remand on corruption charges.With this, Venkata Krishnaprasad has been elected as the new chairman, said the dairy directors.
Narra Venkata Krishnaprasad is currently the President of the Dhulipudi Dairy Society.
Earlier, the state government had taken an important decision to bring dairy and management responsibilities under the purview of the government.
Orders have been issued to transfer the responsibility of dairy to Guntur District Milk Producers Cooperative Society.
Sangam Dairy has also handed over the responsibility of day-to-day operations to the Tenali sub-collector.
Narendra was arrested by ACB officials on Friday morning on charges of corruption.He was produced in court after undergoing medical tests at Vijayawada ESI Hospital.
The ACB court remanded him for 14 days.However, Narendra has filed quash petition in the high court against the charges registered against him by the ACB.However, the High court heard the case.After hearing arguments from both sides, the tribunal reserved its final judgment.
