Russian officials are summoned by the police after requesting Putin’s impeachment

St.Petersburg, Sep 10 : A number of elected officials in Russia were questioned by police following their made calls to impeach of Russian president Vladimir Putin, a media report claimed.

" Palyuga and deputy Nikita Yuferev posted on Twitter an order issued to them by St.Petersburg police for their "discrediting of the ruling establishment".Palyuga later revealed that two of the four deputies who were summoned were released by police and are expected to be punished, CNN reported.

Kremlin has been trying difficult to block the opposition of the Russian attack of Ukraine.After launching a massive invasion in February the Russian government swiftly moved to close down the remaining remnants of the free press in Russia and introduced new laws that impose harsh criminal penalties for the dissemination of "fake" news.
